Record warm weather graced the West Hylebos on Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10, for our second annual Hylebos Days. The event began at noon with an official dedication of the park's new interpretive, the crowning piece to our park's renovation.

Federal Way Mayor Jack Dovey invited his fellow elected officials, King County Councilman Pete von Reichbauer, State Rep. Skip Priest, and Federal Way Councilmembers' Jeanne Burbidge, Dini Duclos and Linda Kochmar to unveil the park's main welcome sign (fashionably decorated with quotes from the park's many visitors).

Friends staff and board members, and volunteers offered guided tours of the park. Kids (of all ages!) enjoyed a scavenger hunt through the park, and free cake was given to all moms (and children of moms, and husbands of moms) on Mothers Day.
