Osaka Property Preservation

The Friends identified this 2-acre parcel on the West Hylebos as a priority in 2005, and at the request of the city of Milton, prepared an application to the Pierce Conservation Futures Fund.

Osaka PropertyRecognizing the importance of the habitat to be preserved, Pierce Conservation Futures purchased the property in 2006 and then transferred the holding to the city of Milton to permanently preserve as open space habitat.

The Osaka Property contains a small amount of stream and wetland habitat as well as upland habitat. We hope to combine the Osaka stream reach with upstream and downstream parcels in the future, to conduct a comprehensive restoration project in this reach.
