Lichens of the West Hylebos Wetlands
Lichens are a symbiotic association of a fungus and a photosynthetic partner (usually a cyanobacteria or blue-green algae). Lichens are a primitive form of plant, without roots. They are sensitive to air pollution and their presence can be an indicator of good air quality.
