Forested Wetland
You have entered the forested type of wetland, where the majority of the woody vegetation stands 20 feet or taller. Mosses, lichens, ferns, and salal cover much of the forest floor.
The large trees most common to Western Washington forested wetlands are Douglas-fir, western hemlock, western redcedar,
and Sitka spruce.
Animals common to forested wetland include many bird species, garter
snakes, chipmunks, squirrels, raccoons, coyotes, mice, and weasels.
