Scrub/Shrub Wetland
You are now standing in a scrub/shrub wetland, which is characterized by woody trees and shrubs less than 20 feet tall.
Scrub/shrub wetlands typically host plants such as willows, red osier dogwood, spirea
(hardhack), salmonberry, and wild rose.
Animals common to this wetland type include bushtits, wrens, flickers, garter snakes and several species of salamanders, newts and frogs. Keep your eyes out for fat banana slugs on the boardwalk too!
